ATTACK MADE ON U.S. CONSULATE IN TURKEY An armed attack was committed on the U.S. Consulate in the Turkish city of Adana Feb. 3, the Iha news agency reported. The criminals fired at the building from a car, tried to escape, but were detained by employees of the Adana Combating Terrorism Department. Six suspects were arrested. All have been identified as members of the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization. In January, Turkish police arrested 120 individuals suspected of cooperation with Al-Qaeda, including a recruiter who worked at a university. |
