GEORGIA’S DEFENSE MINISTER IS IN YEREVAN At the invitation of RA Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, Defense Minister of Georgia Bacho Akhalaia paid today an official visit to Armenia. The Ministers had a private talk on the first day. Afterwards the two countries’ defense ministry delegations had a meeting. The results of the negotiations were concluded during the Armenian and Georgian defense ministers’ joint press conference. The Minister Seyran Ohanyan said, "The Armenian-Georgian military cooperation is developing efficiently, involving the spheres of peacekeeping, military education and military drills and other spheres. This cooperation is aimed at ensuring exchange of experience and forming an atmosphere of mutual trust over the peaceful regulation of the regional security issues". The defense ministers of Armenia and Georgia stated that "the regional conflicts should be settled only through peace". The Minister Akhalaia highlighted that all the necessary bases for "the further development of the Armenian-Georgian defense cooperation" are created. Within the framework of the visit to Armenia, Defense Minister of Georgia Bacho Akhalaia will visit the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial, as well as the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Institute. |
