| AZG DAILY #158, 2010-09-02 Communications COMPUTER CENTER OPENED IN SHENIK VILLAGE OF ARMAVIR REGION WITH THE SUPPORT OF ORANGEThis year the first day of September and the start of the new school year were marked in Shenik village of Armavir region by the opening of a new computer center with broadband internet. The center is founded by the joint efforts of Orange and "Shen" charitable organization, in the frames of the charity program directed to community development. From now on the residents of Shenik will enjoy all the benefits of the broadband internet and will be always connected with the whole world just like people in the capital. The newly opened computer center is equipped with 7 computers, printer/scanner, Orange Flybox 3G router and comfortable furniture, which will provide possibility to the residents of Shenik not only be connected with the world, but also participate in computer courses. For implementation of this project Orange has allotted total 2,348,000 AMD. Bruno Duthoit, Orange CEO said: "As a telecommunication brand our priority is to make available internet and modern means of communications to everyone. That’s with this objective and responsibility that Orange has built the largest 3G+ coverage of Armenia, making available its services to already almost 90% of the population, also in the remote villages. Computer rooms are at the center of our strategy, because they allow us to cooperate with the villages and together fill the gaps of the telecommunication." As other projects, this project as well has been implemented by joint efforts of Orange, Shen and the community, which will ensure its sustainability and long-term success. By inaugurating the computer center on the first day of the academic year, Orange also arrived to Shenik with surprise gifts for the school. All pupils of the first form were presented with nice backpacks, and the school library was replenished with wide variety of professional literature and fiction, collected by Orange employees in the course of the last one month. About Orange Orange Armenia, 100% subsidiary of France Telecom, launched its mobile voice and internet services on November 5, 2009 on the whole territory of the Republic of Armenia. During 2009, 140 million dollars have been invested in Armenia, some 50 million dollars will be invested till the end of 2010, and now the company provides a full range of voice and data services in 500 cities and villages of Armenia.
